Region VIII: Eastern Visayas

I was able to visit Tacloban before but we recently had an Eastern Visayas trip that covered all provinces of this region. This is a DIY trip and we had a lot of commutes. But we also rented car for some parts of the trip.

Day 1:  Northern Samar (Biri)

We have a local tour guide in Biri

Day 2: Northern Samar (Biri, Lavezares, and Catarman) and Samar (Calbayog)

Day 3: Samar (Catbalogan) 

This is a DIY and commute trip. We tried to go to Tinaplacan for the Tarangban and Bangon falls but it was closed.

The traffic from Samar to Leyte is really worse. The roads are under repair and the travel from Samar to Leyte really took so much of our time.

Day 4: Samar (Basey) and Leyte (Tacloban)

Day 6: Southern Leyte Sogod, Maasin, Padre Burgos, Malitbog) and Leyte (Palo and Tacloban)

We got a car rental for this tour since we still have our things with us. We had this tour right after reaching Tacloban from Biliran.

We got a car rental for this tour since the weather is not that good and it will be difficult to do this using public transportation.
